Dear parent/ guardian,
The school intends on competing in the following competitions in the Urdd Eisteddfod this year if there is enough interest from the pupils: Individual and Group Recitation Year 7- 9 Dialogue Year.7- 9 ‘Cân Actol’ (Action song) Years 7-9 The school will hold preliminary rounds and auditions this week during lunch time. The pupils’ commitment to the Performing Club will also be taken into account. If your child commits to representing the school in these competitions, they must ensure that they: - Are a member of the Urdd. (All pupils who went on the Llangrannog trip are Urdd Members for this year). - Are available for Performing Club on: Tuesday 13/2/18 until 4.30pm Every Thursday until 5pm (Starting on 1/3/18). - Are available on the 15/3/17 to compete in the Regional Gwent Eisteddfod in Ysgol Cwm Rhymni at 3.30pm. - And if the school will be fortunate enough to go through to the National Eisteddfod, pupils must be available to go to the Brecon and Radnorshire Urdd National Eisteddfod will be held on the Royal Welsh showground, Builth Wells, 28 May - 2 June 2018. The secondary competitions are usually held on the Wednesday and Thursday. The school will organise a bus if needed. If your child wants to compete in other competitions, you will need to arrange that they are taught privately. Your child must also ensure that Miss Lowri Edwards registers them for the competition. Art and Homework The pupils will also have opportunities to compete in homework and art competitions. Pupils need to discuss with their subject teachers for more information. The writing and technology entries need to be handed in by 26/2/18 as they need to be submitted to the Urdd by 1/3/18. The Art and Craft work must be submitted to the school by 20/4/18 as these need to be submitted to the Urdd by 25/4/18.
