The official language of Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed is Welsh and this is the language of teaching and assessment in all subjects apart from English. Every child will study Welsh as a subject and will sit first language Welsh examinations.

Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed is inclusive and under usual circumstances admits pupils aged 11+ of all abilities and with all educational needs. Every pupil is given the opportunity to develop to the best of their ability, academically, socially, culturally and physically.
