Post 16 Provision

Congratulations to the Class of 2025 for their exceptional A Level results, achieving 29% A*-A and 81% at A*-C.

This represents our Post 16 Provision strong academic ethos and personal achievement, with results in the top 25% in the UK and all learners securing their first choice university offers.

It is a pleasure to welcome students to our Post 16 Provision at Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed, where we offer a wide range of qualifications and experiences to our Post‑16 learners.

We are extremely proud of our Post 16 students, who contribute greatly to our school community. They are seen as excellent role models, mentoring younger pupils and providing numeracy and literacy support to pupils in Years 7 and 8 through our ‘Bydis Darllen’ and ‘Ffigyrau Ystyrlon’ programmes. They lead and play an essential part in the School Eisteddfod, in clubs, and in supporting a wide range of charitable work within our community.

Academically, Post 16 students perform to a very high standard and succeed in achieving top grades, securing places on competitive courses at Higher Education institutions across the UK.

Students can benefit from high‑quality facilities including modern ICT, study rooms, the Post 16 Lounge and new sports facilities. During learner voice sessions, students often praise the high‑quality support and guidance they receive from their specialist tutors, including throughout the UCAS process.

Our aim is to encourage students to develop academically, personally and socially. Most importantly of all, we seek to promote the Welsh ethos of the school by helping them grow as responsible young leaders through their experiences as members of our community at Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed.
